My last post was deleted (twice) without warning by Blogger for copyright infringement. It's sad to see how a little compilation of various artists can scare a record label that much. Especially with the number of hits this blog gets... Anyway, that was one of the risks of posting mp3s and this might just push me to move this blog elsewhere.

Streamside

The Album Leaf - Streamside
(mp3)

Shit, this is embarrassing. Only one post in the whole month of September. I even forgot to celebrate this blog's first birthday. I swear once I hand my paper in things will get back to rolling like they should.

For now I'm just hoping this song will soothe my ill body just like it has my mind many times before.

Featuring Jon Thor Birgisson of Sigur Ròs (which I will probably say a few words about in the near future).

Empires

Spit the Dark
(mp3)

I just came back from sailing around the ancient Greek and Ottoman empires and this song seemed to fit the trip pretty well.
Next stop, Berlin!

You can download the whole album for free right here.

Why?

Fatalist Palmistry
(mp3)

A Sky For Shoeing Horses Under
(mp3)

Close To Me (The Cure cover)
(mp3)

What I love about having music I didn't even know I had on my iPod is when I'm pretty much falling asleep in the bus and a song comes up on shuffle and I'm like "Wow what the hell is this awesomeness?". "Oh, it's Fatalist Palmistry by Why?."

In other words, I don't know anything about these guys except that all their songs I've heard sound like a different band.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson / Coolest name ever ?

Buriedfed (mp3)

The Debtor
(mp3)

The only reason I checked this guy out is because of his awesome name. And I'm not saying that just because we share the same first one. Well maybe I am. Anyway, the music's good. Pretty darn good.

The Hold Steady and the anthem of (y)our summer

Sequestered in Memphis
(mp3)

Lord, I'm Discouraged
(mp3)

The title (almost) says it all. This first song just makes me want to cruise down the coast with the top down, a blue sky overhead, a girl by my side and some good friends in the back. If that doesn't sound like summer to you then sounds like you have mental problems, man. (Yeah, you have mental problems, man.) Too bad I'm just missing the coast, the car and the license.
The second one is less fun, better suited for when that same girl finally goes away but is absolutely beautiful and has one of the most chick-melting solos I've heard in a long time.
I know the guy's voice is kind of an acquired taste, and I must admit I hadn't given their previous records enough of a chance because of that, but like some people have already said, once it sinks in, there's no turning back.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm glad to see that Sesame Street is still as good as it used to be.

Where did rock n' roll go ?

http://www.wheredidrocknrollgo.com

Update:
I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier but if you want to download the track playing on the main page just right click and save as.
And since the countdown has run out, this extra little page has showed up and if you "remember DIY", you may just be able to get your hands on an other sweet track.
Oh and this has to be Tourmaline.

Viva La Vida! (It's such a perfect day)

Strawberry Swing
(mp3)

Sorry for the lack of updates in the past week or so but lately I've barely had any time for myself and I must say it feels great. It's funny how much sweeter the taste is when you've been waiting for it so long.
Especially with Coldplay's latest album as the soundtrack of your Summer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"People moving all the time
Inside a perfectly straight line
Don't you wanna curve away?
When it's such…
It's such a perfect day
It's such a perfect day"
